Looking for the Luxe look without the price tag? Made of copper, this outdoor shower is one of our most requested outdoor designs. Easy to clean, water access from the cold outdoor tap required & affordable.
Outdoor showers are becoming more popular in Sydney, with more homeowners adding an extra shower in the backyard near the pool or on the side entrance to wash off after the beach and get all the sand off! Not only do outdoor showers look amazing but they are also a great practical addition into the home.
Our lead plumber Kelvin gives us insight into what you should think about before you install an outdoor shower, Kelvin has installed outdoor showers across Sydney for over 10 years.
Materials: When selecting an outdoor shower it is important to select a material that is durable for the outdoor weather, Our most popular choice is copper composite which assures durability, weather-resistant and easy to care for. Other finishes include chrome, brushed nickel and brushed brass. Depending on your allocated budget and landscaping design for the outdoor shower will determine which colour finish which would suit your home best.
Good drainage: This is key, as the last thing you want is for your sensational new shower to become a mud pit. We recommend a position with drainage where the water can run off too or we can position a floor waste. You will not be able to use your outdoor shower if you don’t take this into consideration.
Privacy: No one likes showering in front of the neighbours, so selecting a position where it is a little private is our recommendation. Simple tricks include high fences, creating a wall to shower behind, or adding some greenery into your space. Whether you have a pool shower or a fully functioning outdoor bathroom, you’ll want privacy from neighbours.
Location: Prime location is essential when installing an outdoor shower. Choose a sunny spot that optimises the westerly afternoon sun.

This week we designed a new outdoor shower for a client in Coogee. Utilizing premium copper fittings and an amazing shower head we created a beautiful outdoor shower that is durable for the outdoor weather. We chose the side of the house as the best location, in the afternoon it receives the afternoon sun and some privacy from the neighbours.
Our client was over the moon with this shower project and we are so glad to get this installed before the Summer season!

This will save you money, headaches in the future, as it is better to stop a plumbing problem sooner rather than later.
1. Inspect Your Hot Water System – Over the winter period your gas or electric hot water system gets a workout, over the past 6 months your heater will operate in full force, so take some time to check for visible leaks, any rusting, unusual murky water colours, check the thermos state, the anode rod and flush the take for any sediment.
It is recommended you perform a half yearly check on the hot water system, as you do not want this breakdown. If well looked after your hot water system should live for approximately 10-14 years.
If you experience any unusual signs such as leaks, rust or water temperature failing it is recommended you call a licensed plumber. Our team is experienced to assist Sydney residents with hot water repairs and replacements. We stock the leading hot water systems such as Rinnai, Rheem or Dux. We offer emergency plumbing 24/7, 365 days per year!
Plumbing Tip : Treat your hot water heater like any other home appliance – the more you maintain and take care of it, the longer it will last – and keep giving you nice, hot water!
2. Inspect Your Internal & External Drains – Are there any drains around your home or property that have pooling water; water that does not easily flow away or smelly water?
Drainage systems can be checked now to make sure they are ready for the increased use they’re likely to see over Spring and Summer.
3. Inspect your gutters and downpipes
All the Winter wind and wild weather can fill up your gutters real fast!Your gutters are crucial to the flow of water away from your home and leaving your gutters full of leaves, twigs, and debris can spell disaster come the next major downpour.
Homeowners in Sydney usually leave this until the leaves and debris has filled their downpipes and gutters and everything overflows and causes damage. This issue can be easily prevented by using a ladder and clearing all the items out of the gutters.
If you are unable to reach your roof or the downpipes call the Quintessential Plumbing team today on 0403 549 598!
4. Inspect your taps, fixtures, and shower-heads.
Basin taps, kitchen mixers, showerheads and toilets are used multiple times per day and in hot demand! It is good practice to complete an all round check on these fixtures, look out for leaks, weird sounds, loss of pressure or loose taps or shower heads.Spring is the perfect time to check them all for any damage.
Any leaking water is costing you big time (and just wasting water) so now is the time to get on top of it.
5 . Inspect your bathrooms and appliances
We rely on them so much – the dishwasher, the washing machine, the toilet. You’re looking for leaks, condensation, strange noises and unusual long cycle times.
If your home is quite old you may find waterproofing issues or leaks, these issues can build up quite fast and result in mold issues. Often if an issue is spotted and repaired fast the costs of the repair are very reasonable. We recommend to always notify your plumber on anything unusual, if you leave the issue it will result in the matter causing more damage to your fixtures and appliances.

Does your water pressure in your home cause you pressure troubles? Hot and cold water taps, shower heads or the toilet causing low or high pressure, a few seasons that will help with proper flow of water in Sydney.
The most common causes of low pressure include:
Leaks lead to poor water pressure, instead of being pumped up through the pipe the water will be leaking which causes low pressure. If the pressure is affecting all the taps and fixtures equally it would appear to be an issue with the pipework entering the house.
TIP: Contact Sydney Water, have the water meter read, if it indicates higher than usual water consumption it is an indicator that a leak is occurring within the home.
Did you know? Pressure reducing valves are meant to keep the water pressure at the correct level. If your plumber has improperly sized or installed a valve it could contribute to bad water flow and pressure. Valves can also wear out over time and malfunction, they would impair the flow of water and lead to bad pressure within Sydney homes.
When was the last time you checked if you had built up through your pipes? This could be the reason why the water pressure is so low. Debris build up can reduce the water flow through the pipes and constrict movement.
This problem is simple to repair, our team of experienced plumbers will locate the lost pressure and restore pipes throughout your home so it’s fixed in no time!
